My grandpa had one, red and white two door hardtop. Of course, that was back in the late fifties lol
California car or not, times are tough and folks need the cash. Heck, I got my first house and all the furniture at a garage sale for fifteen cents. Just gotta be patient and persistent

I'm hoping that all the staring will either make you sleepy (thus making it easy to take the drink from your hands) or all the staring will release my telekinetic powers. See piece of cake.

One of my friends used to carry around a portable CD player and speakers so she could listen to her music in the car. Does your car have a tape deck that works? You could connect your CD player or iPod to an adapter that hooks up to your tape deck.

Ouuuuu!!! Love the car JP. Buy it! Buy it! At of course the right price. Can't believe the owner is asking for that much money for a car that does not run. There's got to be a way to talk him down reminding him of how much it would cost for repairs.

Holy Crimony! You are thrifty!
Well this one isn't running and likely needs a carb rebuild to get going. It
has the 58 Oldsmobile 394 in it too---not the original engine. Although it is fairly close.
The guy is 80 and his friend left him with the car when he loaned him 3500 and left the state. He is being honest with me so far. I'll go see it tomorrow and see if I can get it for what he has in it or less.
I'll take cash and see how that works. Wish me luck.Good thing I bought that expensive AAA towing membership. They tow 100 miles per incident. This is 50 miles away from me.
Another reason it is cheaper. In that area the economy sucks. This guy is retired and doesn't need the money so I have to be careful there.

I do too---especially the true spoke wheels. Tom is going to kill me because they aren't likely original though.
He says it has fender skirts but I don't see them. I do see the sun shade though.

Good luck in getting the car JP. Taking cash might not be a bad idea. I've always heard as a recommendation that if a person should go to a vintage show, they should bring lots of cash. It's supposed to be able to help you get a better deal from the seller and some times to "save tax" (legally I don't think they can get away with not charging sales tax, so I think they must either figure that in already or don't tell the IRS! :eeek: ) I can't imagine that should be any different from buying a car. In fact, I believe pickers (like on American Pickers) they do a lot of their dealings with cash (and they have bought cars on the show!).
