Some prints survived.
This version has been restored to the original
director’s cut from 1922.

I saw the film in a revival house in Anaheim, near Disneyland, about 1972. What a creeeeeeepy movie.

It’s considered a classic even though this vampire casts a reflection in the mirror
towards the final scene.

And you would think that after being around for several hundred years,
he would know it’s not healthy to walk by a window,
especially when the sun is rising.

I think you might mean "Uncertain Glory," if so, a decent Flynn flick, with Paul Lukas as always doing a great job. I really enjoy Flynn as an actor and think he so shined in a few early action adventure movies, that his other movies and broader acting talents get over looked.

"Dial M for Murder," I just enjoy it from beginning to end.

We watched Captain America: Civil War with the girls, as we bring them through the Marvel universe as they're old enough now! We'll take them to the theatre to see the next instalment, as we'll have caught them up by then.

Ironman 1 and 2 are good - but the 3rd? So, so awful. I wouldn't even bother with that one.

Antman is fantastic!!! I went into it with low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised.

Just to clarify for anyone who hasn't seen or heard of it, Shadow of the Vampire is a fictional account of the filming of Nosferatu (1922) with the premise that Director F.W. Murnau has found a real vampire to play the lead role of Graf Orlok. Regardless, I consider Shadow of the Vampire to be a must-see for fans of Nosferatu.

My interest is the technical aspects of how the process of film making was achieved in
the silent era before sound movies.

"Paths of Glory" which is probably the third or fourth time I've seen it and it only gets better with each viewing. This time, I focused in on just a few characters.

Adolphe Menjou as the insanely immoral but "able to see the game completely for what it is" general was frighteningly good at his role. This is also my favorite Kirk Douglas role as he keeps his over-the-topness in control and delivers a powerful performance.

And the scene where the artillery battery commander refuses the order from the general to fire on his own troops was impressively acted by both the melting-down general and the preternaturally calm-under-intense-pressure commander. While the novel was written in '35, assuming this scene was in the book, it foreshadows one of the huge moral questions of WWII - when is it right for a soldier to refuse an order?

I'll be ready to watch this one again in a year or so.

Having joined the Army AFTER the My Lai massacre.... we discussed the point of "unlawful orders" at length in basic and AIT. It is a question I hope a soldier is never forced to face. But one that many will.

We too have yet to see Antman. I also enjoyed the version of the Mandarin of Iron Man III. I wanted the version I read as a kid, but found this version to be entertaining.
