Early 1960s Dobbs, in brown, with an underwelt. My first fedora; seems a little stingy now at 2" but still have a soft spot for it.

Thanks Red. Wool blend coat with cotton flannel lining from Old Navy. Aran Crafts sweater knitted in Ireland underneath.

That hat looks like it could be the same color as my 3X OR from yesterday. A considerable step up in quality I would guess. Nice.

Michael, I think that hat started life as silverbelly but the 50+ years since it was new have darkened it quite a bit. At first I thought it might be a faded tan but it just doesn't have any brown in it. I doubt it's that much of a step up from yours but it is a nice hat.

Good Monday morning from Funkytown, where I'm much more chipper than I deserve to be.

I hope everybody had a good weekend full of friends, family and rest. Or at the least, that you made a dent in the honey-do list!

Off to do my part to keep the economy afloat in this Mallory Coast-to-coast.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Another week, another WEDDING! Yup, down in Anthony's (@moontheloon) neck of the woods, sort of. This time a black tie affair, NO option! Fine, as long as one of my selection of tuxes fits (they shrink, and grow over time I have found...). My first, and favorite tuxedo has earned its keep, having been worn to several weddings, including my sister-in-law's colossal, three-ringed extravaganza 30 years ago. Where did I get this great garment? It was the very one my father wore to his indoctrination into the Masons in 1946. Yes, I have gotten Dad's father's money's worth out of this one!

Hat: 1952 Stetson St. Regis. Perfect!!

Oh, yes! They also had an attended coat/hat check room. The young gal was so completely clueless about what to do with a hat that when I suggested she slide the ticket behind the ribbon she misunderstood, and attempted to force the F-ing COAT HANGER into it. I saved it, and gently educated her for the next hat under her care.

That is one fancy lookin' fella. A 1940's tuxedo is the best ever. I used to have one (made in (1941). This fatso outgrew it. Bought it at a "used clothing store" in 1979. Today there is no such thing. And what ever happened to junk shops? I used to love them. I guess the junk actually got junky.

Hey folks!
Many thanks for the likes and kind words on my recent posts.
Rounding out my selection of brown Homburgs (and 'burg-like others) is this freshly re-flanged Borden from the 50's, I believe, maybe earlier.

Another great brown offering. The reflange looks good on that brim curl. Nice Hommie, hommie!

J. Hückel ´s Söhne "Flexible" "Seal Velour" probably 1930s. This one arrived back in June but first time I have worn it. The Austrian Velour is really fantastic (color, finish, hand). Also great form.

Lovely color and brim lines on this one Steve. Touchable I'm sure.

Skipped yesterday (actually didn't go out at all). Today the Sedeco black homburg.

Nice Samuel. Love the color. How are the insides? Is this a vintage from the 50s?

Yessssss!

Lee silver label homburg in a dusty sage. Nothing special here; just sitting in a parking lot.

Really late to the party tonight. I've been binge watching Ken Burns Viet Nam (it has been sitting on TIVO) so my attention to the lounge posts is divided. Wore the Echter Borsalino to campus today. We had a film crew from Oregon Public Broadcasting in the archives getting footage of some of our college history. I'll probably end up on the cutting room floor, but I did get some camera time.

If I missed anyone tonight, my humble apologies, Mr. Burns has me distracted. Everybody has put on a super show today.
