My Resistol San Antonio came while I was camping last week. Here it is, out of the box. Haven't brushed or steamed it yet. The felt is nicer than anything else I have. I will post photos on Resistol Roundup and the Other Open Roads.

This Panama was in a lot of ladies' hats that I saw on Goodwill's online auction site. There weren't any detailed pics, and the one of it wasn't very clear, but the description said "Optimo" and it looked like a fine weave so I bid on it. It arrived today. Beautiful hat, but unfortunately damaged. Broken straw in the brim. Don't think it was from the handling by the seller, but a bummer that it didn't show in the pic. Probably would have bid anyway, just to handle an Optimo Panama at a price I can afford.
Here's pics.

Incredible find. I’d wear it as is but I also might see if it could be repaired at something close to a reasonable price. A great score in any case.

With a hat this beautiful, that minor (?) blemish is easily overlooked. I would wear it too! Nice snag John.

I'd say it's a score. Looks pretty good even with the brim break.

Thanks Brent!
I'll probably end up just wearing it but the thought of an Art Fawcett Duplex with a black or charcoal lightweight beaver brim at about 2.75 inches did cross my mind. :)

Ah, the infinite wisdom of Goodwill...
I used to work at a Goodwill. I'd routinely be reprimanded for correcting the managers about hats, vintage items, vintage clothes, etc.
I once found someone put a Borsalino in a Halloween crate, which would have been likely ruined if I'd not rescued it. It irks me that so many stores likely operate similarly.
But at least that means deals can be found. Nice score, indeed.
