Using a brush will mess up your curl pattern. Comb and arrange your hair with a wide tooth comb while it's wet (in the shower is a great place), and when it's dry, shake your curls and/or use your fingers to arrange them. I also recommend the book "Curl Talk" by Ouidad. Lots of fantastic...
