22 7/8 is closer to a 58, but it did seem to run a little large to me when I got it. I was between a 58 and 59 for Akubras at the time so I'd put it at 58.5. It does have some give to it so it could be stretched some. I have the same hat only smaller I got secondhand and I was able to strecth it...

Huh, that's a very good point... Oh decisions decisions... I should probably pass since A) he won't wear it much if at all and B) I don't know for sure if its his size. Oh well. Too bad one isn't my size. I'd love a topper.
