That sweatband material certainly screams Warsaw Pact. I know East German military caps in the 80s had sweatband material similar to that. I posted that 1983 soviet cap in the cap forum, and yes the sweatband material in mine is different than this one, but both of these types were used in...
Just got me this cap. Made in 1983 in the Soviet Union! It is grey wool, with typical Soviet features of a black artificial leather sweatband (not great, but not absolutely horrid) and rayon lining. I can't get enough of Soviet lining material for some reason, I find it just great!
Here is a 1951 khaki wool US Army officer's cap for sale. Size is 7 1/8. It is in good condition but is something of a franken-cap. There are two moth nips which are noted in the photos. I needed to replace the front chinstrap and the eagle badge (hence franken-cap). The front chinstrap is a...
Here is a 1941 Army Doeskin Short Coat with un-notched lapel. It is a size 36 and is in decent used condition. The body has some general moth tracking throughout, not enough that it's horrible but enough that I did not want to take a photo of every single one. None are totally through the wool...
Hello Everyone! From a previous trade attempt, perfect condition Soviet Telogreika Winter Trousers. They are size 5 which is quite large. Here are my approximate measurements:
Total length is about 43"
Inseam about 30" (although note fairly large gap between where seam ends and fly begins)...

Total length is about 43"
Inseam...
Just got this bowler from my grandmother. It belonged to her grandfather (so my great-great-grandfather). He died in 1941 and judging by the union stamp it is pre-1934. It is a Mallory in rough shape, missing sweatband, ribbons all tattered. But the most important part, the felt, is in...
Personally, nothing beats a vintage, so I would wait for a nice oldie to show up. You could probably find I nice vintage one for cheaper than that even, if you are vigilant!
Here is my final hat for awhile, as I now have all colors I wanted. Seems to be a rather obscure maker "Chapeaux Moderne". Very nice hat, though a little more disheveled than my others, it has a few smudges. Also the liner is just loosely plopped in. I think the liner was replaced at some point...
