The military did have correspondents, and some were officers, but that was extremely rare as most of them were enlisted. And I know of none who were WACs but it's certainly possible there might have been a couple somewhere I've never heard of (though unlikely as I've made a longterm study of civilian war correspondents and am generally considered an authority on the subject by some, at the risk of my modesty).
Also, they're all wearing the wrong color of correspondent armband, they should be green. NCHS makes them in blue, the wrong color, and I'm sure those are what they're all wearing.

how do you start reenacting if your not a member of any clubs? seems like some people are backyard reenactors they wear the uniform and just take photos in the backyard, Ive also seen a few that show up at gun shows dressed up in different eras, like Spanish American war, WW1, WW2, etc

Air shows are often a good place to meet some Living History people. They were at about every show we ever flew. The Salt Lake City group was a lot of fun!

If you're just walking around, you're showing off your uniform, nothing different than people who show up as Spiderman at Comicon, in the overall concept of wanting to be seen.
Re-enacting, generally, has to be with a group for the most part.
