I am feeling guilty in instigating the brief wander away from Gannon Hats. Apologies.

Back to Gannon Hats; I have some travel time the next days to day dream about future hats. What kind of hat do I wish for? I posted a few inspirations and even looked up a couple of 4+ year old threads on the forum to check out some hats. Folks do you have any current shots of your Gannon Hats out in the wild that would continue my day dream? Share any upcoming projects and inspirations?

Here are a couple recent pics -

Thanks. I got a sample of the Silverbelly Michael uses but it was much more in the light blue/grey vein that that, which looks more like a light tan.

That is the silver belly color! Silvermist is a bright white with gray/blue tones. The bone is...bone.

I still suggest using the Rabbit posts on the Art Fawcett thread for felt color representations. That gentleman was incredible thorough and his artistic eye is excellent. He had posted some comparative shots of the lighter toned felts (which I find harder to differentiate) that was spot on helpful. Download the photos and save them. They do come in handy.

I just received word from Michael that my Whiskey with a Rust bow is ready to ship. I ripped off Moon's hat as it looked so great. This will be my first Gannon after 4 NorthWest custom.

Fresh off Michael's hat stand:In the spirit of the forum, and because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery:
FELT: Silvermist
RIBBON/TRIM: Silverbelly
CROWN: 5 3/4"
BRIM: 2 3/4"
RIBBON: 1 1/2"
BINDING: 1/2"
Headshots to come.

Wow, classy combination of ribbon, cord, felt. Can not wait to see live shots of the hat in the wilds.

You should be proud, both artisan and commissioner. Best, Eric -

Enjoy your Sunday evening, Eric -

Handsome Family Photo Eric ! I know Michael is pouncing more , and working to get the fur felt even finer , but what are your thoughts on the color VS softness ? I know we talk about some colors during the dying process seem to become softer than others . Like in Akubra CDs the general consensus is the BGG seem softer , and many say Silver Mist from Winchester is some of their finest .
