Like I need another black hat as we head into Straw Season. Listed on the bay in the White Star & Titanic category (???) a rather nice looking Mallory Derby with the 1823 date. Eager to see clues to the age of this one, it was listed as 1940s. Should be on the noggin first of the week.

Ordered an Akubra Campdraft from Hats by the hundred. Its a made to order hat so i won't be getting it until July.
I know, it's terrible, but I couldn't resist. I do recognize Anthony's sentiments about black hats and for a while I resisted buying them as well. After the first one they seemed to multiply by themselves and I find myself with more than thirty of them! (well, they are made of rabbits after all).

I've made far worse jokes myself, so you're in good company.
As for black hats, the only thing I have against them is that they tend to draw more heat during the hot and humid southern California summer and early autumn months so I find them to be somewhat impractical.
