I personally especially like the buttons on the jacket... these little details really make a jacket distinguish from one another.. it's just buttons i know lol.


Notice there are already some scratches on the front of the jacket.. it comes with wear with only a few days as the finishing of the leather is quite susceptible to this. For me it's great and I don't mind at all but for those who like their jackets in pristine condition this is not the jacket for you.

A couple of my observations and feelings on this jacket:
1. As mentioned previously, it fits better on a person with what westerners designate as a more typical "asian" frame. When I say this I mean that this is good for people who does not have very wide shoulders, chest or biceps. This is because the fit on the sleeves are more tailored than wide on the biceps area.

2. This is NOT an exact replica of a traditional cossack jacket. Notice the shorter length on sleeves, and the general cut of the jacket. This is, in my view, intended for people who wants to wear a slightly more "modern" cut but without sacrificing too much of the great elements of a traditional cossack.

3. The leather is great to touch, and is easy to handle. I think this will be good for spring or autumn (with layering). Definitely a jacket that can wear comfortably when you are travelling on a plane. The colour finishing on this jacket looks greater in person than in pics imho, especially the grain.

4. The jacket is really easy to match with your clothes. Throw on t-shirt and jeans, and you are good to go. I personally like to match it when wearing a shirt and vest underneath, with a pair of off-white jeans/pants. For the lousy fit pictures I post I didn't put much thought into matching my clothes with the jacket, as my office attire requires me to at least wear a dress shirt and suit pants (which would not be my most ideal match for this jacket, but it still works reasonably well).

5. Price - as much as I like the jacket I don't think it's "worth" the price, when you can get a good horsehide jacket at this price. This is, however, quite a unique jacket in my eyes, and fits good on my frame. I am sure fellow board members who have a bigger frame may not consider this and look for the mister freedom one instead. For me, I forsee a lot of mileage from this jacket due to its versatility.

Any comments and questions feel free to share and ask! Would love to hear more thoughts as this brand is not well known (I assume) to western countries.

I think your observations are on point. A bit of a modern take on this style. The cut looks longer and more straight up & down. The adjusters are higher up than on most others of this style. The color is FANTASTIC! I also really like the collar shape.
I'm so glad you posted detail shots of the pockets as I didn't notice the detail stitching on the website- very nice shape there. They also went with the back yoke. Aero does this, but others don't.

Some great insights there handymike.

One thing i forgot to mention which you touch on abit are the front pockets. For more traditional Cossacks with these type of pockets usually the pocket will “bulge” out abit but for this style, I think their intention is for the front panel to “flow” better and more streamlined , so that the pocket itself sans the flap will not be pronounced.

Of course the downside is once you put anything remotely thicker ( for eg a pack of cards ) there is a possibility that there will be protrusion of the pocket , though I have yet to try this.

One thing I also forgot to mention is the type of leather . It was advertised as an “oiled steer hide” but the sales in Hong Kong said it’s made in “calf skin”. Would be great to hear fellow members take on what type of cow leather it might actually be , though understandably can be hard to detect from pics alone.

Lovely jacket. I would be vey pleased to have the car coat but the cut does seem questionable for my frame.
