Hi all ~ Just wanted to let you know about this fabulous magazine
I came across at the beauty parlor. The gals there let me have it.
It's called Reminisce and it's the best! This issue I have is all about
Christmas and it has pages & pages of peoples old photos from decades
ago, along...
What a fabulous film! I have managed over the past few years
to only catch small bits & decided not to watch the film until
I could see it in it's entirety. Well, last night I finally had the
opportunity thanks to TCM.
This film & the story is excellent. I love that there is the suspense...
So I have been unfortunate to just find out about
these films being shown on TCM. Luckily, I have
a chance this next Tuesday to catch a couple.
Have any of you watched any of them?
They look fantastic, even a bit noir to some degree.
I love British Classic Films and was so excited
to hear...
I heard about this story on a History Channel program
that was going over the horrible Labor Day Hurricane
disaster that hit the keys in 1935.
Although the mention of this young couple was short, I felt
drawn in. I could only find this one, single piece on them
on the internet. It...
*This Week's FL Star of the Week is the Incredible Ida Lupino*
It's no exaggeration to say that Ida Lupino was born to be in the entertainment business. Her father was a famous dance hall performer in England, and her mother was known as the fastest tap dancer alive. She began performing...

Once a week ~ we discuss in one thread a classic actor/actress?
You know...discuss their films, their style, their private life, etc...
I thought it would be revealing, interesting and kind of fun.
I was watching TCM's bio on John Garfield and I found his
life so fascinating. Then...
These galleries are fantastic. Click on the blue dots next to an actresses name...
then you will be taken to a thumbnail photo. You will then need to click
on the thumbnail photo to see a large - high quality scan of the classic actress.
There are actresses A-Z ~ So have fun!
It is so...
Okay...I was in one of my insomniac episodes trying to
get to sleep and I began to think about the movie "Grease" (1978)
with John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John. Don't ask me
how that came into my brain, but then I began to think
of how it might have been casted if this movie had been filmed...
Just because I have been stumbling upon some rare flicks
lately I thought it would be cool to start a thread where we could
all chime in on that one movie we saw which you never even
knew existed....and you were blown away by the performances!
I have been quite lucky lately...Harold &...
Saw it for the first time last night on TCM and I absolutely loved it!
How could it have taken me this long to have ever seen this movie?
It is a timeless & quirky film...and I look forward to seeing it again.
Anyone else have an opinion on this film? Yay or Nay for you...
I stumbled upon this program last night and fell in love with it.
The period is the 1930s in London! It was so gritty and really
well done story lines. I just had to pass this on to all of you!!

I was dusting a stack of hat boxes and I opened them up...as most are empty. I came across one my mother got for me from an elderly lady in Florida. It had a ladies hat & a mens hat with a couple of other items.
ANYHOW...this men's hat is indeed looks to be a Fedora Hat. It's a gorgeous deep...
I posted up in the movie area...but I am seriously excited about the
new issue of Vanity Fair coming out. Annie Leibovitz did the photography
of the Hollywood VF...and they have done something different....they have
used a film noir story to shoot around and it sounds like it's quite a bit...
I will have to run out and get this! I saw an entertainment program discussing the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair that is to be out by the end of this week. The photos look amazing and so does the wardrobe & hair...makeup! It's fantastic ~ The article is below....

I have often thought there must have been because over the years...(many years in fact)...I noticed there were many films that were made during the early 1970s that have subject matter that refer to the 1920s. Topics such as silent film stars, books that were popular *The Great Gatsby* and the...
I was out last night (first time in years!) and I noticed that
some of the ladies that were dressed up in genuine vintage
wear never seemed to crack a smile. I felt that it brought a
coldness to their look.
I thought to myself..."My oh My how important a smile is!"
Because vintage beauty is all about the past I know I have drawn
great inspiration from many beauties over the years. I was thinking
about the ones who inspired me in the very beginning, and how over
time it has shifted & changed.
I think Marilyn Monroe was big for me in my teens, then...
