Best HOT CURLERS/ROLLERS out on the market

Try Sally's if they have a location in the Ottawa area--I've found the Babyliss/Jilbere 40-stick set here at their T.O. locations.

Best HOT CURLERS/ROLLERS out on the market

At Sally's. The nearest one to downtown is a bit of a schlep on St. Clair west of Keele, and there are other locations further afield in Etobicoke and Scarborough. I think I've also seen them at the Toronto Beauty & Barber Supply shop at the corner of Bay and Dundas, and Cosmetic World at 623...

What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

Thanks for the head's-up on Revlon Matte, Miss Neecerie. I thought it might take a while for these to show up here (as is usually the case with new products), but the display was up at my local Shopper's Drug Mart today, and I very well may have been the first chick to take a crack at it. I...

Yeah, I thought I recognized you in one of her Flickr photos! And when you mentioned WW, I figured it might have been due to her prompting. I'm glad y'all enjoyed the link.

    Nutrition and exercise!

THEE most weight-loss-inspirational thingy I've come across lately is this blog (I won't type the title as it's got a rude word in it). Some of you NYC gals may know this woman; I've never met her but when I still lived back home I used to see her around all the time. She was stunning even...

Best HOT CURLERS/ROLLERS out on the market

Another Remington Rag Rave Count me in on the kudos for Remington Rag Rollers! I've been wanting to try them for a long time, but never came across them up here and didn't feel like paying exorbitant eBay shipping on something that might not work. Imagine my surprise when they turned up at a...

Does anyone own this beauty book?

It's a small book (about 6 inches by 5 inches), and it's more of a compendium of midcentury cosmetics ads than a history of midcentury cosmetics. It's cute, but the ads in it are reproduced in such a tiny manner that it's hard to read their text.

Are there ladies present who have non-retro bf's, husbands?

Thanks Inky, and right back atcha on the husband-adorableness factor--you two must look amazing together I'm sure! And yay for "nearly-intergenerational" marriages--there's a 14-year difference in mine as well, though naturally I was the one who got cradle-robbed...

Are there ladies present who have non-retro bf's, husbands?

I'd describe my husband as moderately '60s retro. He's blind, so you'd think visuals and appearances wouldn't matter all that much to him...but he's fairly visually-oriented for a blind guy. The last era in which he could see somewhat clearly was his '60s childhood, and so the biff!-bang!-pow...

    How Much Makeup?

Quick nearby errands and/or weekend morning diner breakfasts & grocery shopping: Nothing. The waitresses and checkout clerks haven't hollered "eeeek" yet, so maybe I'm not completely hideous without it--or they're just kind, who knows. More involved errands & activities (anything beyond a...

    Hotsticks styling question

I've only ever used hairspray or heat setting spray with hot rollers too--my hair being what it is, I'm afraid the teensy-weensy amount of s.l. that was recommended in heated circumstances wouldn't give enough hold--but other gals upthread and elsewhere reported good results with the s.l....
