I found a brown Mallorry "Sportabout Cravenette" back in September in the Halloween costume bin at the local goodwill store. Brown and the softest fur felt hat I've ever had my hands on. You just sort of rebash it to what ever style you want every time you put it on. A bit small, but close...
I've got a new jacket this year. P40 battle dress ,100% wool of course from What Price Glory. Super comfortable jacket, and I get loads of compliments from the ladies when I wear it in public, which is all the time.:D
Please post any opinions or comments, they are most welcome. I believe these first ones are from the 30's. They are 46" long and 3 1/4" wide. Kind of a mercurised cotton feel to them. Unlabeled.
I ought to add that many of these ties still had cardboard inside of them and are in minty condition.
You guys all had so much fun with # 1 we'll try another. This one is in linen from mycustomtailor.com. The pull at the button is from my belt buckle ( really:rolleyes: ) I havn't got suspender buttons sewn in yet. I tried it with clip on (*gasp*) suspenders and the pull goes away. I gave them...
So, what do you guys (and gals) think of this? Be as brutal or complimentary as you like. I'll fill you in on my opinion in a bit.

Here's a wide variety of hats for you guys. I've been wanting to post this for some time, and finally got it scanned. This was taken in the teens I believe as that's my Great Great Grandad Thompson on the far right. These guys are all Thompsons, all of them having immigrated from Scotland at...
Ordered two suits recently, this one from mycustomtailor.com
http://www.mycustomtailor.com/fabrics.php?styleID=8332 I got it in ivory irish linen with out the waist coat.
I also ordered this on from Magnoli in golden rod with the nassau pants instead of the marrakesh pants...
Got it over on the 'bay. Don't forget to bid as much as you possibly can....that's what we need here, a good case of auction fever!lol

I just came across these on a site that does all kinds of repros. Can anybody give me any info on these as they were used in the WWII Brit army? I really don't know what to make of these, but they're quirky enough I think I might have to have a pair!
I missed the auction on these , but contacted the seller and bought them anyway. They just came today. Boy are these cool boots! About a 1/2 size too big, but a pair of Dr, Scholl's insoles fixed that right up. SUPER thick soles and leather heals. SUPER fine leather shoe laces and tiny eyelets...
I came across a gaberdine DB suit in navy blue yesterday. Oldish, in my novice opinion a 30's or 40's suit. Waaayyyy high arm holes. Pants have dropped belt loops and a Talon zipper. It's prbably a 40 or smaller. It seems the waist on the pants was a 32 with a 27 inseam. The jacket was way too...
The jacket fits me great, I wear a 44R. The pants have a 39" waist, and 29" inseam. The color in the pics is pretty accurate, although the plaid stripes aren't blue, they're black. The last cleaner's tags are still in the jacket and pants, the creases are still sharp. The suit is in great...
I'm not sure how old it is, but it doesn't fit like a modern suit! The jacket and pants are kind of a checked brown wool with a red stripe running thru. High arm holes!:eusa_clap Boy does that feel GREAT! Has the old Union label and the brand is "Clipper craft" tailored for Peterson Harned...
I'm pursuing getting a summer weight suit made. Vintage 30's style, SB, peaked lapels, belted back with "bi swing vents". I'm stuck on what fabric to get it made from.[huh] Any suggestions? How about color, anything I should be considering here?
Thanks.

I'd swear it's an open roads, but it's marked "Western Royal". Same thing only different? 2 1/2" brim. It's a wee bit big on me, but I'll stuff the hat band a bit and it should be fine. It's gonna need a cleaning...
I've been looking for a sport coat with the leather gunpad and elbow pads and found it today. This ones got the big ol' patch pockets too. Big lapels and leather covered buttons. Beats me how old it is , any guesses?
I'll certainly look dapper shooting skeet in this thing.:D
