I don't understand why this lack of quality control is tolerated. Aero has some serious quality issues. In my line of work, if I pulled this kind of nonsense on clients I would be flattened out and ridiculed.
Aero's seemingly endless problems and piss poor quality control may not have an...
Hello everyone,
I think my filson was stolen--I hope it was not but it seems someone ran off with it. It is an annoying situation but it does mean I can get a new briefcase.
What do you guys suggest--I was thinking something like this...
Butte is a voice of reason here--and it is shocking because you have to hear his ideas on the joys of employment in tanneries.
Still, from my limited knowledge it does seem like the crowd that left Aero did as much damage as they could before departing...And it is possible they did this...
I would not trust your advice as when it comes to more abstract matters, but in this case erring on the side of caution certainly does make most sense.
The role of marketing is huge in any discussion of luxury brands, which would explain the success of Belstaff (full disclosure: I know little about Belstaff but find none of its products particularly appealing).
I think the benefit of sharply defining the notion of quality as opposed to JeffMs...
It appears to be a bit too large in the shoulders, no? And it is a little long. Sleeves could be let out a bit. It's not quite perfect, but looks like it can be altered pretty easily--although since a peacoat is a casual piece of clothing, I wouldn't bother (I'm lax when it comes to casual wear...
Any honest critique would weigh the quality of each product side by side...not make a crude priced based criticism.
You can see no reason for Himel to be expensive--but why is that, what have you considered and what is your criteria? And why do you and Sloan seem to suspend criticism for Aero...
This is very true, which makes it all the more silly when people seem to get all bothered about the Chinese making all their socks or Swiss army knives. Also, the Chinese don't seem to lose their cool when foreign architecture firms design some of their most famous buildings.
The thing about...
You must have a real deep knowledge of jackets. Impressive, I'd never think jackets could hold their value. If you don't mind what is the usual range for a vintage leather? Does it ever get crazy expensive?
No such luck.
Your take on manufacturing is rather baffling. It isn't even well informed, truly. I think it is more of a case of reinterpreted nostalgia. It is significant that for all you said, you only had a video of a tannery to defend yourself.
Talk to real blue collar guys, working in...
I apologize for my "controversial views". China is an awful place with awful factories. I love American factories because they are full of creativity, life, and economic activity.
Why won't America bomb Iran, and then go after those illegal Chinese factories next? American industrial might to...
Your guess...like everything else you say, conjecture.
China is definitely not great, but 1900s? That's a joke. If your grandpa or father liked factory work, why can't Chinese like factory work and be good at it? Why do the Chinese factories have no souls, but the American tanneries are full of...
If you can quote some lines by me that are clearly mean spirited, I will stop posting in this thread entirely.
Sometimes people just don't like it when they are exposed to different viewpoints---doesn't mean I am a bad guy.
