When you can't curl your hair...
I am PANTS with hair and I have tennis elbow, but I find the head scarf hair do works very well, as I can rest my arm as required and the pins etc, keeps the hair in place as you go - I can now do this in less than 10 mins. This is also a great style for me when I'm camping at military events... -
Restoration of the "Memphis Belle"
I was at the 'Military Vehicles and Flying Machines' show at Damyons Hall Aerodrome UK the other weekend and the "Sally B" fly by several times - sent shivers down my spine - so beautiful! (She is lovingly cared for at Duxford UK part of the Imperial War Museum). -

Well that's always the question.... do you make something that looks new and perfectly made or do you try to give it some age ? I suspect that a new hat purchased before the war was a little worse for wear after, so maybe a bit of both. I make 1940's accessories hats, gloves etc. to sell and...- Nettie

Oh that's great - have just had a look at web site - lots for us ladies too, how ever, I seem to be missing that fetching yellow rain poncho (1957) from my vintage wardrobe great for our English summers :D And yes would love copies of any books if they published them!- Nettie

Some pictures would be grand. I certainly think the right felt is half the problem I used craft felt with NO substance to it at all, but I can only get good quality 100% wool felt on line or maybe a trip to London but will try that a go. I wonder if there is the original picture for that...- Nettie
