I have been reading of the value of "old" felt in vintage hats vs. the felt available today.
Is taking a vintage Borsalino or Whippet from a 7 3/8 to a 7 1/2 doable?
(not by stretching it)
I know hatters will deconstruct and re-block a hat to change sizes.
Obviously a new liner would be in...
Giving up on finding a 7 1/2 whippet any time soon.
The problem is I would like one now, not in a year when I may or may not stumble across a 7 1/2.
When I do find them they are long gone...
Who would be a good choice to recreate a 7 1/2 LO?
Any vendors known for their whippets?

Just looking for a consensus on what people use here.
I have 3 beaver fedoras coming and wanted to make sure they were weather resistant.

It looks....well lets just say its no flattering on my pumpkin head.
Sent it back for a reblock (Indy style) and to have the brim binding removed.
Was wondering...
After reading all the Sherlock Holmes hat threads, i found the link to the falcon park hattery and his new "Holmes Fedora" replica from the Robert Downey jr. Version of Sherlock.
Curious if anyone has one, i would love to see photos, am in process of ordering.
