I would certainly agree that it's better to buy a hat that fits but when it costs just $14 and just a bit small I'm jumping on it and stretching it regardless of what may happen later. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. -

No Love For Black Hats
I picked up a nice Pennsylvania made black open crown for a couple bucks but it definitely looked Amish preacher. I put a pork pie telescope bash and trained the snap brim and now I don't mind wearing it. -

Saw a 20 something guy in a felt porkpie I said "nice hat" he said JJ hat center New York. So I guess he didn't just pick it up at a flea market. -

Whatever caliber one chooses just make sure you practice a lot with the same ammo you are going to carry. I don`t know how many times I have seen people fire hundreds of rounds of ball ammo with never a misfeed and then load up with very expensive hollowpoints such as Talon to carry for defense...- Bonked

I know this is old but I have a Jay Lord Hatters Fedora that has a replacement tag inside the sweat that says Borden Hats. Jay Lord was a New York city Hatter that went out of business in the early eighties. Maybe Jay Lord and Borden were the same company or Borden made hats for other labels. I... -
