Hello all!
Recently, I was home in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and stopped at
one of my favorite old stores, the Moultonborough Country Store. While there,
I realized that they had added to their one room attic 'museum', so I decided
to go and take a look.

Upon entering the 'museum' there is a sign that reads, "DO NOT TOUCH
THINGS IN THE MUSEUM!" I went into the room with every intention to follow
the rules... until I saw the oversized 1929 Scotch Woolen Mills catalog,
sitting on a pulpit, open to the most wonderfully done ad for a suit!! I knew I
had to get a photo of this page for the FL! Naturally, after that... I just had
to get one more photo, then another, then another... You get the picture
(pun intended;) )
So what follows is the 1929 Scotch Woolen Mills Spring/Summer catalog.

I hope you enjoy it. Sorry about the angled pictures but the pulpit was
almost as high as my head and I was, how shall I say... rushed for time?

Another Scotch ad
P1040221.jpg

A barrel, presumably for holding Derby hats, with Derby ad
P1040217.jpg

A very small ad, maybe 3x5"
P1040220.jpg

A few pair of women's shoes that were hanging up
P1040224.jpg

This is a cupboard type of cabinet, with the add on the front door
P1040219.jpg

I'm not sure what this one was about.... it is over 5 feet tall though!

One of my favorites: I'm not sure what the implication is though... do good
jeans make better saw-ers or just jealous husbands?

End of Catalog

Ok, that's all....
I'll go there again next year and just ask to take pictures of the book, carefully. I would have done so this year but I had 4 boys in tow and I think it would have only caused the owners to panic ;)
I hope you enjoy the catalog! The artwork around the suits was so incredible and the colors... just spectacularly done!

Fantastic stuff 'tina!

Notice, anybody, that while several of the Scotch Brand suits are shown in three-piece...the prices are all for two-piece. 'Twas no' such a bargain as ye think, laddies.

Blue Jeans was an 1890 melodrama so popular it earned the tag line, "Will Never Wear Out!"
