The one I bought is by Marc Eliot and it is really pretty darn good. But be prepared, he led quite an interesting private life but it doesn't make me love him any less. I'm just now getting to the part about his work with Hitchcock, it should be quite insightful.

I listened to the same book on audiobook. I wasn't really prepared for the private life, and I think the author focused a lot on the negative... but maybe it's just me...

Well, I guess what it boils down to is that his private life is really neither here nor there. The end result is that the charisma and charm he projected on screen brought great joy to a wide audience and still does so today, and I suppose that that is what really matters--in fact, we are still collecting paper dolls of him and Ginger today
