Just speculating... but the length plus low button stance has me wondering, too. Might possibly be due to the hem being shortened and pockets moved up a bit?

Anyway, if it were my size, I'd be all over it. Lovely suit.

So I asked the seller about maybe it was altered and she claims it was not and that is typical of the era.
I mentioned to her that it is not and could possibly be altered later in its life.

Because its true. The symmetry is off

The seller claims she found this in the 80s. thats cool i mean she didnt see it for 40 years before that, the time when it could have altered.

She refuses to understand the wonkyness

The main reason is that the price probably will go crazy on this one, people are already bidding and it just recently came up.

I don't think it's been altered. The jacket measures to a perfect 35S. I just measured a similar era PB jacket that fits me perfectly (i.e. jacket just covers buttocks) and it measures 25 1/2 inches front shoulder to hem (as measured in the listing) and rear centre seam length.

And another linen jacket, same era, that measures 25 1/4 inch length. Again, good fit for length.
