A brim question

I probably should have asked this a while ago, but better late than never. As some of you know, I had to steam the brim of my Federation so that the front would stay snapped down properly. My question is, if a snap brim is steam-shaped as I've done, should I always store the hat with the brim down, or should I store it with the brim up? Does it even matter?

Once I snap that brim down, I never bring it back up. I keep thinking that if I snap the brim up and down too many times, the felt will get weak. I have always stored with the brim down, steamed or not.
