A cautionary tale

Ebay. Grrrrr. Grrrrr. And grrrr again.

I bid on a beautiful pair of wingtip Spectators and guess what? Ebay blocked it because I live in the UK and the seller is in the States. Presumably she didn't state in her profile that she would ship the to UK but I'd had an email from her telling me how much postage would be.

So ladies, I urge you when bidding on overseas items, check with the seller that they have 'ships to [insert your country]' enabled in their profile.

And to make matters worse, the shoes sold for $4 - my top bid was six times that.

I am so, so disappointed.

I'm confused, you said you have an email from her telling you how much postage would be? I think I would raise a stink on this one. I did't know bids could be blocked! That's a shame... this could be one for the thread of those "ones that got away".

Can we see em anyhow??
