Hi folks,

a few months ago I was invited to visit the hat "factory" of a friend in Vienna.
I thought you might enjoy seeing some of their tools and products, so here are the pictures.

the company is called "Mühlbauer" and is a family-owned business for many generations, who still make their hats in the center of Vienna.

Hope you enjoy the pictures, despite my obvious limitations as a photographer.

Thanks! :) I am aware of this company but have never seen any of their hats. Would it be possible to also post this in the German - Austrian thread below?

By the way here is their web site.

Of course, help yourself.

They are a household name in Austria and certainly in Vienna, where it is still de rigeur to wear a hat for the ladies to any wedding or other social event of some significance.

Thanks! :) I have never come across a vintage one. I see plenty of P. & C. Habigs and the occasional Böhm, Dobesch, Fraenkel. This is men's hats though.

I was not aware o this factory in Vienna. Since Habig closed, I didnt think there was anyone left in Vienna. It seems though that most of their production is ladies hats.
