Always happy to oblige! A few pics of my ALC Cossack in seal buffalo with brown cotton drill lining, size 46. I chose buffalo for its 'wearability' straight out of the box and the interest of the marked variations in graininess throughout the hide. The ordering bumpf says its a 1950s fit with 1930s design. The 50s fit is a little fuller and the 30s design refers to the slope from back to front at the hem and the lack of a yoke. I'm 6' and 220lbs

My wife tells me the leather has a very pleasant purplish-heather tint; regrettably the pics don't show its full graininess very well. Apols for the poor focus on the detail shot

I received this from ALC in late June of last year having ordered it during a factory visit in early May. I think the sleeves are a tad long and its too full in the shoulders, even so I still find I can't lift my arms much above shoulder height - perhaps due to the lack of an action back. The side straps are cinched in fully otherwise its too full in the body since I lost a little weight.

The jacket is very well put together and I have enjoyed wearing it during the winter, as a casual jacket and for driving and flying (for which the short back is ideal). I do, however, have mixed feelings about ALC as a result of this and a previous purchase, but these are not for airing on a public forum!

Anyway - have a laugh; we did.

It's not the lack of a bi-swing.
I have one. Pretty pleased for the first hour I had it 'til I actually put it on and wore it out. Great leather and cool detailing but the armholes are cut so low that there is very little range of motion. Basically some 30's details on an 80's mall-jacket pattern. Lift your arms to your sides and you sprout batwings while the shoulders surround your ears.
My McCoy's 30's Cossack style jacket has higher, smaller armholes and I can move my arms any which way, no batwings and the shoulders stay put.

OK, so basically I've paid a lot of money for a slightly tarted-up 80s mall-jacket?
Hmmmmm....this leather jacket business is a lot more complicated than I thought. So, if you don't want a military style jacket but rather something in period, civilian style and you can't trust ALC where do you go? And will a true 30s style fit the average 21st Century male body shape anyway?

Incidentally I don't see anything other than military on the Real McCoys website ..........are they still making civilian style jackets?

I have a cossack on order. This thread seems to be the only negative comments I have seen about an Aero jacket. Does anyone like their cossack?

I am a bit concerned about this this batwing thing. I am a big fan of Batman but I don't want it on the Cossack I am about to order. Will a bi-swing back option avoid this?

Also I have a question about the cut of this jacket. I have a slim-ish waist (size 30"), chest size is about 38" and around shoulders is about 45.5". Do you think I should get one custom made with my measurements or should I go for their standard 38" jacket.

Perhaps you could change your order to a 30s Half-belt? Although I don't own a Cossack so cannot compare, i've found the armholes on the 30s HB just fine, no 'batwing' effect.
You could always change some of the details such as adding the throat latch and removing the outside breast pocket which would make it very similar to the Cossack.
For sizing it's always best to send your measurements to Amanda for advise.

I have to agree with some of the comments that the arm holes appear to be cut low and the jacket rides up a bit (bat wing effect) when I lift my arms. However this is when I wear the jacket with a T shirt, when I wear it with a sweater all is fine.
I am a size 38/40 and asked to be able to layer underneath the jacket for warmth.

The thing I would not do again is the rayon over cotton. I would just get a cotton or tartan lining as the rayon wears quickly in the neck area.
I have had the jacket for nearly a year so I will do a follow up post with new pictures, to show break in and wear.

Hmmmm those jackets do look quite similar actually. I wonder if I would get annoyed with the throat latch over time for the Cossack... Yes I will definitely send measurements over to Amanda. The problem is I keep changing my mind about which jacket I want. It was always between the Highwayman and the Cossack!

Just a quick question. Are you saying that even with the bi-swing back customization you had bat-wing problem??
