Very nice Milan, Che. It really is speckled, not uniformly gray, right? Haven't seen this before in a Milan. Or is that the light reflecting on the weave?

Che, great looking Milan!

I received my lightweight Granite yesterday and love it. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to post pictures from my IPad. I'll have to post them later from my regular computer. It's a beautiful hat though. I love the Granite color.

I would like to introduce you to my Vintage Silhouette Wanderer. The hat is an art-lite granite colored felt, 2.5” brim, straight blocked crown, vent holes, removabe liner, with a moderate fedora swoop to the brim. Please note that all of the pics show the granite a bit washed out from the direct morning sun. This is the best I can come up with this morning on the run.

In speaking to Art Fawcett the lightweight felt was available in granite. Early on when I read this thread a granite hat caught my eye, http://www.thefedoralounge.com/show...Hall-of-Fame&p=1114639&viewfull=1#post1114639
. The hat at the link is none other than Al, Delectans, gorgeous fedora in granite. He showed how the felt is gray with under-tones of brown, while many grays have undertones of blue. I believe, for my uses, that it would be very practical wearing. Granite works! The light weight felt is just marvelous. It can take warmer temps and with the liner can work great in this morning's 50'F temps. I have been plaing with the crease and have been enjoying the deeper rake and lighter teardrop. The crease is lightly put in and can be changed quickly.

Recently a dynamite Playboy inspired fedora was show cased in the granite lite weight. That hat really caught my eye. I have always wanted a hat like the Seabiscuit fedora (inspired by the movie). Being more conservative in my attire, I also wished for a more moderate ribbon treatment, ala the Playboy. I started going thru the Fedora Lounge archives. It was here that I discovered this thread featuring the Stetson Wanderer, http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?47675-They-call-me-the-Wanderer...& . In fact post #20 shows that Dean had the fedora, bluesmoke and pecan, commissioned from Art Fawcett. Brilliant – my search was nearing the completion.

I have not been shy on the forum mentioning that my sunset occupation is that of a women’s gymnastics coach. Our girls compete locally, regionally, nationally and inter-nationally. I was over in London watching, this time, the 2012 Olympics in August. Art ran with the theme of gymnastics. Very creatively he surprised me with a “twist” to the ribbon. In his notification e-mail he said look the for the hat with a “twist.” I was anxious and nervous.

Low and behold – it is marvelous. Sharp, manly and yet a conservative risk to fashion, IMO.

Thanks for taking a look and letting me share. Everybody needs an Art Fawcett Vintage Silhouette, Eric -

Eric, That is a fantastic replica of the original Stetson Wanderer, but then, it was built by Art. Congratulations on another wonderful VS hat.

Che-- now THAT is a Milan. congrats!

Eric, the hat is amazing. Thank you for posting various pictures that bring out the subtleties of that color. Granite grey is not a color I would have paid one bit of attention to before-- super nice!

Eric, thanks for taking the time and effort to post the pics of your new VS Granite.
A side by side shot of the Granite together with the Blue Smoke (and perhaps a Dove and Sahara for balance :D) would be great... hint, hint. :)
