Ok, I sprained my ankle before leaving for my trip and I was forced on a couch for 2 days straght so it would be ok for the trip. Thank God for Tivo, I watched The Big Sleep, a bunch of History Channel shows, some other movies, and CASABLANCA for the first time. It is now my favorite movie, it is as amazing as everyone says (a first for me to agree with). It just speaks classic, American, ingenous film making!. I also loved the styling, sets, props, story, casting, and everything else. THIS MOVIE SHOULD NEVER BE REMADE!!!!!! So, me jumping out of a tree has its benifits (thats how I hurt my ankle). Just my rant.

Too late! They remade it about twenty years ago with - hold on to your seat - David Soul. (the blond from the original Starsky and Hutch) It was then a television show with the same, but thankfully, very briefly.

Casablanca is my favorite film also and I certainly agree that it shouldn't be remade, or even 'colorized'. Same with all the Bogart films, IMHO. Can you imagine Fred C. Dobbs as anyone but Bogey???...KC
