Cool (But Sold) eBay Stuff

While they don't bring as much as the large sizes, anything smaller than a 38 seems to be pretty rare in stuff that old. I always found 38 to be the most common size in 40s and 40 to be the most in 50s and 60s.

37, 36, and especially 35 or less are quite rare. Possible more than the 44s. But there is probably less demand, and they can maybe be taken in, and the smaller guys often just won't pay the price.

Less demand indeed. That 20s suit went for what they go for now in that size unless they are really exceptional---for pattern purposes. Your size 44 is actually the median suit size for today's male---maybe larger depending on who you listen to. A 44s would probably go for some decent money. :D

Now, isn't this nice: http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-OUTHOUS...ries?hash=item3355140938&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Insane that this didn't go for a higher price. Photo ties with this water ski print are super rare: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Mens-40...in_0?hash=item1e58176caa&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Who likes dominos? (The game, not the pizza): http://cgi.ebay.com/Set-5-Vintage-M...ries?hash=item45edac203c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Pre-WWII Japanese tie for the tourist market. Isn't the embroidered geisha beautiful? http://cgi.ebay.com/1940S-VINTAGE-N...ries?hash=item19b5fd594a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

How did a tie this rare (it's a highly unusual version of the genre) go for this rock bottom price? http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1940s-H...ries?hash=item27ab26574a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

You may want to reconsider all your impending ebay postings, Marc.

Marc,

I have to ask, what gives you a clue that cap is original?, I only say that, as I think if I had seen it on ebay I would have dismissed it as a repro.

Kindest Regards

Ben
