Thank you much for all of the info. The brim had me fooled, but I steamed it down, and it looks a lot better!

Homburgs have bound brims, not welted, and the pencil curl is much more pronounced. Moreover, the crown on a Homburg has more stiffener generally, and I don't think I've ever seen a Homburg with a backbow....which is not to say that it doesn't exist, but certainly not common. A Homburg would also have come with a center dent, whereas this is open crown.

I open crowned it for the photos ;) Had to re steam it as the seller had the dent a bit off to the side at that.

Thank you for the other info. I have just been having the want for a 'Burg on my mind for awhile, and I guess an upturned brim made me a little to excited!?

Can any one date and tell me a little about this Stylepark I picked up last summer. It has a 4 1/4 crown as bashed and a 2 1/4
Cavanaugh edge brim. I can find little about the company on the net. The hat must do something for me as I have noticed that when I need to grab something and run It is usually what I go out the door under----maybe it's the color, or perhaps I secretly like the smaller brim and am in denial.

Lincoln Bennett

Hey everyone, new here and this is my first post, so hello to all! I recently caught a Lincoln Bennett hat on Ebay, but information was scarce. I was wondering if anyone would be able to provide a rough estimate on it's age. I don't really know too much about the company either, so if anyone has information in that department it would be much appreciated.

In case anyone can't make it out, the text reads The Evening Hat on one side and Lincoln Bennett hat makers by appointment on the other. The inside reads Lincoln Bennett and Co. Hatters By Appointment, 162 Piccadilly London.

Thanks for any assistance!

Help Dating a Hat

Hello,

I was wondering if someone would be able to date this hat? Looking through some of the other threads, my guess is early to mid 50's. Can someone confirm this?

Thanks!

This box, with embossed foil Stetson label and leather strap was used in the mid 1950s and with variations, into the 1960s. Hard to date the hat from a single photo of the outside, but it appears to be congruent with this time period.

Hi,

Thanks for help on the hat box. From my previous post earlier today (I posted pictures of the inside of the hat), I think we determined the hat is mid 50's. So it seems the hat box is from around the same time.

Thanks again!
