Yeah I am sure you are right...but you know some here have purchased from him and got a deal. Few years ago I just finished buying a clean Stratoliner that looked never worn for $260.00 shipped...he had one with moth bites and obvious wear on the sweatband for $600.00 I actually refered him to the listing I just purchased to see what he would say and got no reply. I have no idea where he gets his hats to list, but I tend to just avoid him, too much what he wants as you say, even if he lowered his prices.

Looks to me like someone went crazy with markers. The pic of the inside tags shows the real color of the felt.

1900s- earlier 1910s more than likely. when it arrives, carefully look behind the sweatband and see if there are any other clues, such as a LOT number, etc

I have one and probably wear it more than any other hat. I like them too.Resistol 4X Cattleman in Silverbelly arrived today. I think I’ll keep this one original (for now). I must have a dozen of these and I can’t say no when the shipping costs more than the hat. I don’t get to play the vintage fedora game too often due to my size, but these westerns are inexpensive, plentiful, and sturdy.
