How to break in/distress new moleskin

Hello loungers!

I am wondering whether people have a recommendation for distressing new or deadstock moleskin pants, beyond “wearing them”?

I have a pair of new army issue moleskin cargo pants in navy and would (hopefully) like to reduce the shine and give them a more broken in patina, as you’ll find in 30s/40s items.

So, any suggestions here, other than wearing them and waiting another 90 or so years? :)

If you want to rapidly age clothes without also radically shortening their lifespan, that might not be easy. I suppose you could look into the sort of aging products the theatre industry use. Personally I'd just wear the trousers and they'll do their own thing in time, but I've always been more into the look of wearing 30s/40s items as they would have looked un the 30s/40s rather than as they look now having developed that much longer aging to them.
