Keith Hats

I'm a new member. I just got a felt hat made by a company called Keith, and I'n hoping that someone can help with the Brand and its history. It seems to be modeled after the Stetson Open Road, if somewhat darker, since it has identical measurements and look, although it is much thicker and stiffer, and the brim is raw and un-stiched. The leather sweat band is stamped "Keith," in gold. It also reads "Bullrider, Buckskin Tuff, " "Ten X quality," "Shape Self-Retaining," and has an oval stamp which encloses the words ""Imported Coney Fur, Since 1860," and there' an image of a rabbit. There's a label inside the crown with plastic over it, ala Stetson. Very nice hat in very good condition. If any of you Fedora-istas know the brand, I'd appreciate any information you might be able to share.

I realize this is a 17 year old thread, but as a future reference I’m adding some information. The OP’s description surely describes a hat made by Langenburg / Beaver Brand. Today was found another Keith hat that is different from the OP’s hat but is also clearly a Langenberg / Beaver Brand hat.

Marked Keith Quality Unexcelled and 100% Genuine Fur.
