I ordered a pair in the Hummus color and once I got them I was impressed by the quality. However, they are a high volume shoe and even with my orthotics they were too sloppy of a fit. The guide tab on the tongue also split the first time I cinched the laces up. Back they went.
In contrast I have two pairs of the Thorogood 685 retro boots (one in black horsehide and one in the rough-out tan) and for the money they are the best retro work boot I've had (and I've had Iron Rangers, Beckmans and Chippewas). Anyone else have them? Epaulet sells them here:
