New guy, new hat, old question

Hello!

I'm Flatch; long/short, I just turned 40 the other day and decided that it was time to give the ballcaps a break and get the hat I always wanted. I did some looking around and ordered the gray Jaxon Bogart, which should be here next week. Closest thing I have otherwise is a Bay Hat Co. waxed cotton Cape Flattery, which very, very vaguely resembles a fedora, from a quarter-mile away. Time for the real thing, tho.

Then I found this board, and have been encouraged to see good comments not only about the hat, but an understanding that many guys like fedoras not because they want to be fashionable, or anti-fashion, or to imitate anyone in particular...but just because, dang it, it's a fine and functional piece of headgear.

My question is about dyeing hats...I saw it briefly touched on elsewhere but it was kinda old thread so thought I'd bump it. Overall I'm happy with the appearance of the Bogart, and am even gladder now that I've read good reviews on it. Only thing I'd prefer on it, is if it came in kind of a dusky gray-blue color...picture the color of heavy cigar or pipe smoke...instead of the really neutral gray it appears to have in the pics. So to reboot the question:

(1) Is dyeing possible for fur felt hats?
(2) Does anyone professionally do dyeing, like hat care specialists? (I'd be REALLY leery of even trying it myself...but would risk it if I knew EXACTLY what to do)
(3) If they do, what's the ballpark I'd pay to have it done?

Thanks in advance for any insights.
