Thanks Lefty. Actually when I got it in the post (above), the center dent had fallen very low, and as the hat was a very touch large, it tended to fall down if moved around. I brought the centre dent down a little with distilled water, and pinched the front a little more. I like the look now more, and it sits well on my head with a little room for possible shrinkage if it were ever to happen. BTW, you had some pics of the interior of Graham`s shop - what is the link?

Wow, Optimo is great on communication. On Thursday, I sent three vintage hats there for what is probably their first tune up in 50 years. According to UPS tracking info., Optimo received the box at around 10 this morning. Tiffany called me before noon to discuss my request, arrange payment, and let me know that they'd probably be shipped out next Monday. That's service! :)

Your picture links are broken in the thread you linked above? Did you just move them in your photobucket account, or are they gone for good? I can host them if you need some space.

I know. I've got the space, but my photobucket account was a wreck. I started it when I joined the Lounge and had no idea how quickly I'd fill it. Everything just got to be a disorganized mess. As a result, I'm in the process of making folders, tagging the photos, etc. - and killing several threads here in the process. I'll try to get everything back up when I'm finished. Hopefully, we can figure out a way that you or I can edit my older posts to reinsert the photos.

Lefty...it eve gets better than that. I spoke to Graham last week on a new order, he said he`ll send me swatches, put me in the queue, and if I replied by a certain date, he gave me a date my hat will be complete...and it`s within this month. I even know the date it will arrive overseas! Now how`s that for fine service!!?

Here is my Creme Optimo Park Avenue. Tiffany at Optimo kept trying to talk me into Oak lightweight felt but I wanted Creme. I was very insistant on Creme and got exactly what I wanted. Optimo is very fast and I do love the quality of their hats.

I like the hats mcarthur. It is hard to tell from the picture. What tint does the Oxblood have. Looks black.
it is actually a very dark red, hence the name oxblood.

it is a little :eek:fftopic: but is saw the new 2008/2009 colours on saturday, & i personally like the colour call ink which is a very dark blue. the only way anyone would be able to tell that it is not black is if you put it right next to a dark black. the same goes for oxblood. they also have a very good indy brown again this year. the colour of the hat i put money down on on saturday is called granite, which is a very dark gray. they also have a vintage weight felt available is white only that costs $1000. the reason for the high price is because the fur they use for it only comes formthe underbelly of the beaver, i saw & held one blocked into an a-crown in my size, & it was very nice. they also have a seafoam colour in regular & light weight. those are all the colours i can think of at the moment...
thanx!!!

How did it look live and in person? When I sent my green Borso to Graham for cleaning, he mentioned that he would be offering a similar felt color this fall, and that he was thinking of calling the new color "sea foam."

Cheers,
JtL

it is not my cup of tea, personally, but it is different & i like that. would you see me wearing one? not unless it was dirt cheap. could someone else pull it off? APSOLUTLY!!!
also, his prices for smooth finish regualar weight have gone from $500 to $550, however, the quality has gone up as well...
