A couple of days ago on the "wish list" thread I mentioned that I didn't own any real vintage hats with soft felt and a wide brim. That's no longer true. I bought this Champ from MiamiBruno on eBay. It came today. I'm feelin' the felt.

Just got this beautiful Dobbs 40. I think it is 40's but could be 50's. I'm checking the production tag for clues. Brim is 2 7/8th inches.

Akubra Capricorn in Fawn/Olive, this is a real nice hat, hard to tell it is poly unless you are holding it.

Great dimensions, much better than the Stetson Strat Milan Poly, much better.

I am so happy with it that I just ordered the grey one.

Akubra Zephyr, another fine Akubra hat, a little bit more country than the Capricorn, bigger brim, different hatband, can be worn with the back of the brim up or down, real good shade size, a great hat for a lot of different outfits.

Very happy with it.

You know in the picture it Almost looked like an Oxblood (but I'm color blind) brownish reddish dark tannish sort of . (nice reading material ! My eyes spotted a few that I have at the second glance) (... Hey I've got them !) Nice Hat ! Roger , you're in the 7 1/4 Club right ? One of my best friends lives in Abilene , he and I both have family all around Dallas/FW and out lying areas . I need to give him a heads up , or his wife (just incase) , if they happen upon a 7 3/8 GET IT , if its not totally full of holes and moth bites , plus my cousins . I used to work there in and out , and stayed in Irvine a lot (Islamabad/EastAsia had taken over last I worked regularly there , TBN's Palace was there , too). I like FW , but they can have Dallas , and Austin has no worries ... . Capishe' ? Si ?

Never heard of this brand. Very well made, has the oilskin liner between the sweat and the felt. I'm guessing 60s or maybe very early 70s. Any info/estimates of age welcome.
