A couple years ago this is a hat that Max would have been all over. I miss those heady days. Where are hanging out these days @drmaxtejeda ?
Hi! I do want that one if it's for sale. I will ask him.
I have been a little discouraged lately because I just can't find hats that make my heart thump. Most would be repeats for my collection anyway, and I often laugh at the asking prices.

I’ve posted this before, but it is a bit cleaner now. Charter House for Juster Brothers of Minneapolis. Based on what appears to be a Hat Corporation of America factory label and a $5.00 price I’m guessing early 1940s. Nice crown height. I found an ad for the Charter House store brand going back to 1930.

I don’t think you have a Gannon yet. He just received some 100% beaver hat bodies….you should give him a call or email him.

Very fine looking hat, Bob.

More pics and details in the Stetson No. 1 Quality thread.
Fantastic hat, Jonathan. Really like that style.

Late posting this one but here is a new favorite, courtesy of @Rmccamey. I love the reddish brown hue of this Milano Homburg. This brim has that slight downward swoop in front and back to give it a little western flare.

Randy saved me from a bad deal and misrepresentation on the bay and then hooked me up with this one! Thank you, sir! View attachment 555733 View attachment 555734 View attachment 555735 View attachment 555736
Yup, that's a cool one alright!

Another batch of hats came in this week. Let's see what the harvest is.

Let's start with this one.
Cappello Vaso velour fedora in brown called Branlio (or Branliq?). Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. The name is a play on the name of the Dutch retailer J. Pul it was made for and we've seen the brand before. The manufacturer is actually Vanzina. Weighs 125 grams. Nice hat for autumn.
Don't mind the little spots; I had to take the pictures in the incessant drizzle we'll be having the last few and coming days.

Another one from down south.
Cappellificio Rossi homburg in grey. Size 57 (roughly) with the bound brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. This is an interesting one. Being located in Monza I expected to receive a woolfelt homburg, but it's not. Upon further inspection Rossi isn't the maker at all, but they just added the liner and a new sweatband. Underneath the liner I can feel a (likely original) crown patch. The liner is glued inside all the way around though and I'd have to tear it to find out. No labels to be found.
Really nice looking classic homburg with some good contrast and a distinct blueish tone to the grey felt.

Third one. Really thought this was going to be a smaller size, but surprises happen. Sold as a "Cicarc", which is a risk you're taking as a hat manufacturer if you're going to be too fancy with the lettering on your hats. Bronnold is another brand that comes to mind in that regard.

Tirard Chiné fedora in heather grey. Size 60 with the raw edge brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Lovely hand to the felt and at 111 grams not a heavy felt by any means. It is an earlier one, though I don't think as early as the Tirard Frères one. Forties maybe?
This one has already been spoken for.

Fourth and Final one for now.
Borsalino Bacosan fedora in grey called Sebino (I think). First time we've seen this colour. Size 59 with the bound brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Fabulous hand to the thin and lightweight felt. The hat weighs only 89 grams. Borsalino at it's finest. The ribbon and bow are simple but elegant. From the M. Hutter collection.
This hat has also found a new home already.

I don’t recall this hat. I must be getting old. Did you commission it or buy it secondhand? In any case, his skills keep improving and his current hats are better and more vintage like than his earlier efforts.
I bought it secondhand, but Ignacio conformed it for me. Lovely hat.

I have 603 hats, Brent. I want hats that I don't have examples of.
Aurel Huber, Stetson Beach comber,
Stetson Buccaneer, Biskup, Borsalino Anniversario, Borsalino Guanaco, Borsalino Lontra, Borsalino Siur Pipen, Hoyt Louis Cobb, Knockabout, Mikado Straw (I saw Alan's), Nathaniel, Ottmar Reich, Reich Sisal, Poupart & Cie, Stetson Fling, Stetson Mindoro, Stetson Pinnacle, Privateer, Renown, Rocket, Stetson The Slant, The Wanderer, Swann Abram, The Fray, a Cork Boater like Alan's, and Weakley are the ones that are on my list and I haven't found.

I don’t see a Bailey Lite-Felt on your list! :)
Is it a bittersweet that you aren’t finding new collection worthy hats with regularity these days? I enjoy the hunt, but you can go a very long time without finding what’s left on your list.

Champ Imperial - Purple Grey
5 1/2 Crown Open - About 4 5/8 as shaped
3/4 Purple Grosgrain Mid-ribbon
2 3/4 Brim with 1/8 matching grosgrain binding
Reedless Sweat

This is exactly the kind of hat I love to take a chance on. Extremely unusual purple felt Champ Imperial with an ever so slight shag finish. The hat has almost identical specs and proportions to my Champ Featherweight hats. My gut says this one slightly older than those… but likely still a 40s hat. There is some white marks on the inside tip of the crown. I am unable to ascertain whether it is part of a tip imprint of this currently liner free hat… or if it at one point did have a liner. The Champ featherweight hats were liner free other than a stitched in oilskin tip protector. It is possible this a forerunner with a tip logo. It arrived extremely dirty and out of shape but after a level 10 brushing/scrubbing and a good steam it cleaned and shaped up very well. There is still some slight felt discoloration that is not real noticeable and two areas of moth tracks on the brim. More clean up/repair work could diminish both. At 6 3/4 it is a bit smaller in size.. but with its unreeded sweat it kinda squeezed onto my head well and has loosened up quickly. I’m playing with a few different brim looks. I think for me hats with a 2 3/4 brim look best with the front broke down… along with a slight up curl at the edge.
