I have used the back of a tablespoon and a glass to remove ghost creases.
I spray the hat with water so it stays wet while I work on it. Place the glass inside the hat under the crease, and the bottom of the tablespoon on the outside and smoosh it around a bit. The crease does flatten out. Occasionally, depending on the hat, a second try has been required. When that has been the case, I let the hat dry and do it again the next day.
