Thanks, gals! I love seeing what other people have in their collection, but I'm often too lazy or busy to take pics of what I have. So I guess it was time :)

Thanks! :)

Lauren, the top pair were actually given to me by a friend who bought them on ebay and they were too narrow! They are my favourites too. My cat was reaching under the closet door a few weeks ago and managed to claw up the front toe of one of them. I love my shoe repairman, though. He managed to fix it so that the marks are almost invisible.

One more pair.... I almost forgot these because they were put away for the summer. One of the very rare occasions on ebay when you think you are going to have to pay a bundle for something (and are very willing to!) and it goes for almost nothing! :)

THOSE ARE GORGEOUS! I've been looking for a pair of those in my size too! Decodoll, I have a feeling if we ever met in person I would be freaking out about your vintage and patterns.

You are going to LOVE this store!

http://www.remixvintageshoes.com/

It's been in Los Angeles for about the past 12 years. The owners used to scour the U.S. for old store warehouses and buy all the deadstock (never sold) vintage women's and men's shoes they could get their hands on. These days, there are few such warehouses left, so RE-MIX has gotten into manufacturing its own reproductions of vintage shoes. Hope you find something you like!

I do love Remix's repros and have started collecting their wedges.I hope to have 1 of each pair.
Decodoll-How are their babydolls? You're the first I've seen get them.I'd love to make those my next collection if the width isn't too wide.
I can get away with an average width, though my feet are narrow.

Decodoll, you should post your lovelies in the "show us your shoes" section. I'm the only girl that's posted shoes so far!

Ruby, I haven't worn them all that much yet...actually not even outside...as I got them for VLV and never left the casino after putting them on in my room! They were not very comfortable, but then I'm a big baby when it comes to higher heels. :)

Lauren, I'll be sure to post them over there later when I have a little more time.

my shoe photo album

I started an online shoe photo album of vintage shoes I fancy (1920s-1940s). I do not own most of the shoes pictured. I'm not quite sure how to post a link, but try THIS.

Good idea!!

Here's a few sites that can help out:
Solemates: The Century of Shoes
The Impact of Machinery on Making Shoes
If the Shoe Fits: Collecting Vintage Footwear Be sure to check out the second page, because it has some great images.
A History of the Platform Shoe Cause they had em in the 30's and 40's too. Just ask our local pinups :)
Ladies shoes of the 1930's from the lovely Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild
Ladies shoes of the 1940's From the same
And there ya go!

Great pics, chrissy! If I haven't already said so, welcome to the lounge!

I just sold a pair of shoes to the person who has this online shoe museam. It's very cool! Check it out!

Luc Berjen

Wow...great site-- I'll have one of each, please! Hey, I just ran across a posh label called Luc Berjen that carries vintage ('30s) styles. The brand doesn't seem to have much of a web presence, though; and I don't think many shops/department stores carry it. (Saw it in Betsy Fisher in Wash, D.C.).
