Nice stuff posted recently. Jakob's pics are superb, as always.

I've been acquiring a few razors...recently shaved with a Fatboy ($5 at an antique shop!) a Bostonian, an Aristocrat and a Sheraton...

Tonight's gear will be:

Ball End Tech
Dorco ST-301 blade
Delong "Black Badger" brush
Tom's of Maine Calendula cream
Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum AS (burn, baby, burn!)
Burt's Bee's Bay Rum AS balm

Ballend.jpg

My Razor Acquisition Disorder has led me from being the owner of one DE razor, a 1966 Slim Adjustable that was my father's to this mess.....

toomuch.jpg

That doesn't include about a half dozen ugly ducks and duplicates not in that photo.

The breadbox that's been painted black holds my current rotation of creams, aftershaves, balms and colognes. The back-stock is in the cabinets under the sink.

While I don't feel the need to add more razors, my selection of blades and soaps is pretty low. I'm thinking of ordering some Feather blades and Tabac soap.

Thank you :)

The bread box is a really cool idea actually.

I haev gone completely overboard since I discovered the Gillette NEW - I think I have 2-3 + a Sheraton (basicly a TTO NEW) on the way to me right now.

Yesterday I recieved this lot from my friend paul.c. at B&B:

Package_from_Paul_01.jpg

"Kentucky Souvenir" Maker's Mark Whisky
Norpro dip-cooler/scuttle
Two bottels of Thayer's Witch Hazel unscented
Two bottles of Famlly Dollar "Old Spice" (yes, it does really smell like the old Shulton formula!)
Antique Listerine Frog blade bank (I have wanted one of these for a very long time - I love it's art deco lines)
Mama Bear's Aged Spice soap (more old style Shulton goodness!)
Omega prof. boar brush (oddly enough this brush is almost impossible to find in Europe)
Four sealed packages of Gillette Blue blades
A puck of VDH deluxe soap
A puck of Williams Mug soap
Huge vintage blade stropper for my stropper collection
GEM Blue Star SE blades
Lady Gillette for my GF

Some of the things I knew was on the way - others were a complete suprise.

Regards.

Great posts gents!! I see some healthy collections going on!

Michaelshane, that Red Tip should be a great shaver, though the red did designate a more aggressive blade gap IIRC. You might want to go with a forgiving blade to start out. Derby, Crystal, or Personna would be my .02.
Oh, and that micromatic case isn't the original to that razor, but 1)you probably knew that and 2) sometimes a razor needs a box to be kept in.

Mama Bear's is good stuff. My brother uses the honeysuckle glycerin soap and the scent is spectacular! I plan to get some myself if I ever finish my current soap. I'm starting to think it lasts forever.

First shave with this one. This was an ebay purchase of about a year ago. I finally broke down and had it restored (and re-scaled in zepicote). The best description for the shave with this one was 'buttah', she was that smoooth.

7/8 Wade & Butcher "Barbers Rattler"
Shavemac best badger brush
loom strop
Alum
Geo. F. Trumpers Coconut Oil soap
Ogallala Bay Rum a/s

3 passes, bbs

Lamplight: The Aged Spice soap is great, but I found the scent too overwhelming the first time I used it. It will probably settle down after a few uses though.
