Silly? That one rocks! :eusa_clap

Vintage ties are probably the perfect entry level vintage collecting item.
You can generally find them for great prices (see Quigley's .20 cent tie above).
Ties are small enough to accumulate and avoid the wrath of the better half, and they make any outfit look that much better.

Help Dating a Couple Vintage Ties

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I love this community!

I do have a question that requires the assistance of the brilliant minds assembled here. I found a couple old looking ties at a thrift store and i was curious if anyone could help me date them. I am new to the whole vintage collecting scene and haven't the foggiest about dating ties.

I have included pictures of the ties as well as their labels. The label on the brown one is hard to take a picture of since it is just etched into the material but if you can't read it, it says "Woven in France, Van Heusen".

The brown one is the shortest, skinniest tie i have ever seen. The maroon one is kind of an odd one in that it is square on the bottom and made of wool.

If you guys could put any kind of a rough date on how old these things are likely to be, I would be eternally grateful! Thanks in advance!
