STetson Selv-Edge

Does anyone know anything about a vintage beaver hat called a Stetson Selv-Edge? I may want to bid on one on Ebay...

Selv-edge is not the name of a hat, but rather Stetson’s designation of the welt edge it put on the hat. I don’t know how flexible the term is, but the one I have is a very nicely done overwelt.

I have a selv-edge hat and from the looks of it it is from the 50's. It is a dress hat with plastic on the top of the lining and it says 3x beaver. The selv-edge is very similar if not the same as the Cavanagh edge you see on many hats on the forum, Do a search on self felted edge or cavanagh edge and you will find several threads.
