Stretching an Akubra

I must admit that I have been bitten by the bug:
Got the first one, a Banjo Paterson
Already ordered the second one, a Leisure Time.
And in the long run I would like to have something crushable, like the Traveller.
Having a head circumference of 61.5cm I would like to know if you would consider it possible to stretch this hat with its non-leather hatband to half a size bigger.
I wouldnt mind getting a hat stretcher from David Morgan for this purpose and spend a couple of weeks slowly adjusting the size, because the one thing that keeps me from wearing a felt hat more often is that a normal one I cant store while commuting by bike.
What do you think?
