Great thread, some details have presented themselves here that I would have otherwise overlooked.
The 1909 Fairbanks photo looks a lot like a 1930s sporty outfit, except for that style of collar.

1914. the shirt collars look rather stiff and overly formal. the bowler hats and canes would look anachronistic today. but really, very little about the suit has changed in a hundred years.

...quite a variety of styles in one photo.

Any idea of the location of that last photo? I assumed it to be continental European. The wide lapels with plenty of 'belly' (bottom right) makes me think back to earlier discussions of suits in eastern Europe.

The styles for younger men look great. Nothing like the boxy sack coats you'd expect to see in the early decades of the century.

I'd concur also on account of the "Wilhelmian" moustaches. Of course this was not exclusive to Germany, but it reinforces the gut feeling.

Here a small size (ca. 35 - waaay too small for me) German suit from ca. 1905-1910.
It had a 1908 Banknote in the interior pocket.

Note the Emperor Wilhelm II. brace buttons!

The fabric is a thicker dark green wool with navy microcheck and pinkish sprinkles!

WOW! That's beautiful. I'm assuming the size 35 refers to that jacket, not the pants waist? If so, I'd be all over it but that's way too small for me.

Antique store somewhere in Bavaria... (funny enough - as it is obviously has very Prussian buttons :p) if I remember correctly.
