About raccoon coats... am I right in assuming these were a short lived style? Was it a teens through late 20s trend?

I associate it with rakish US College kids from the 20s - raccoon coats and boaters - but I may well be off.

I don't know Edward. I think you're pretty spot on with the period. I used to see racoon coats, ukuleles and old jalopies in the old college type movies. I don't believe that style ever got to the 30's.
