As warmer weather is starting in the Southern states. The need for cooler head wear will soon be upon us. I have worn straws twice this week. Lets see what styles we as a group have and what we plan on wearing during spring, summer and early fall. Here are a few of mine that will be rotated out of storage.

Some great hats you have there Bud! I'm in the same boat....I will be rotating some of my hats out over the next couple of weeks....gradually replacing some of my felts with straws. Kinda bittersweet in a sense, as I enjoy my staws but I sure hate to put away my felts. Of course I will leave a few felts in rotation to be used when the occasion calls for....even in the Summer along the Gulf Coast.:D

I'm envious. We're going through ice storms in Motown -- so it'll still be a while before I have to worry about putting the felts away...

Cheers,

Hello Bud in Texas. That second straw you posted is a sharp looking hat. I got one modeled after one of Sharptoys, called the Bogey. I would love to post a picture, if was finished by AF, but I haven't figured it out just yet. I haven't worn it yet but around this part of TN we start around the middle of march. Nice collection of straw.:)

Bob, it was sold as a Montecristi. I am by no means an authority. I do enjoy the hat, it is light and cool, so it fills the need for me. As to the Black Gold Straw, it is the first and only one that I have ever seen. It was a gift from a friend at HATCO.

Well here in MA it will be at least a couple of months before I break out the straws. Today it's actually 58 degrees. Next week it will 25 degrees. On a day like today, and reading this post from Bud, I'm looking forward to breaking them out. Only three, and here thery are.

sometimes nothing is a real cool hand"

Bud, my 'Supernatural' panama is close to Mr Martins hat. Since this pic I have tightened the front pinch and it does look like the photo you posted. Have to say I do like it!!!

A couple of new additions

First is an Adam Milan, it has a price tag under the sweat of $3.45, the brim is just under 3" and a crown height of 4". Based on the price tag, I am told it may be quite old. Any information is appreciated, maybe an ad to give a time frame.
