Tobacconist in London?

Tuppence and myself will be arriving in London come Thursday.
One of my goals is to visit a traditional tobacconist, thus expanding my limited range of pipe tobaccoes.

Mighty fine if someone could point me in the right direction.

There is one on The Strand. Not sure of it's name though, sorry.

Exit Charing Cross Station (main exit) and turn Right to walk up The Strand. It's on the Right somewhere up there.

Bit "orf topic" I know but here in the Swan River Colony, we have a few "Cigar Divans" beautiful little shops but due to laws they have to decorate the windows with bunting that read "Smoking Kills" imagine Harvey Nic's window displays with bunting that reads "This will make your Derriere look the size of a three piece suite, from Ikea"

Excellent for pipes, pipe accessories and pipe tobacco. A helpful and friendly service.
A nice selection of Snuff too.

Possibly, for service at least, only beaten by M White's in London Road, Southampton, somewhat further south. A chap that can remember your blend of pipe tobacco after 18 months is true remarkable.

Aother little advantage of Smith's is that, being on Charing Cross Road, it neighbours a good number of excellent second hand bookshops.

Nice little shop, run by a helpful gentleman, I imagine it where lots of the city chaps get their cigars. They sell some shaving accessories too.

James J Fox & Robert Lewis
A very extensive collection of Tobacco, well worth a visit if time allows. They have an interesting little smoking "museum" room downstairs. I'm not 100% sure that the room is still open but it's worth asking.

We are also among the very few shops to be exempt from the smoking ban. It is therefore possible to enjoy your purchase in our shop at St James's Street as a sample with the view to buy more if you wish.

Dear all.

Our trip was excellent indeed.
The hotel was close to Trafalgar Square and we found this nice cafe in the Victoria Embankment Gardens.

The weather was marvelous, breakfast was hearty, and I enjoyed many a bowl of tobacco in the shade of magnificent trees.

I found G Smith & Sons but the shop was closed due to Bank Holiday.
Peaked through the window though...
A must for our next trip!

Paid a visit to Davidoff on Jermyn Street.
Found a nice pipe & tobacco pouch in soft tan leather and some nice tobacco as well.
Nice shop & good service.
