Nick gets a call from Herbert McCauley, Wynant's lawyer at 11:30 A.M. (waking him).
That night Nick and Nora go to the opening of "Honeymoon" at the Little Theatre and then to a party.
Nora shows Nick the following article in the morning paper:

P.S. On a personal note happy Christmas Eve to everyone.
That's my favorite movie for Christmastime, although i love it at any other time of the year. Dan and I watched it on Christmas Eve. I'm thinking of making it a tradition. Hurrah for the Thin Man!
At 10:00 A.M. Nick and Nora awake in their beds to see Shep Morelli pointing a gun at them and trying to convince them that he didn't kill Julia. The cops come in and break it up.
Dorothy stops by saying her mom beat her. She stays at their apartment while the Charles go to Mimi's dinner party at the Courtland.
So far in the book Nick and Nora have had bad luck with uninvited guests; makes my relatives visits look like fun.
Nick and John Guild go to see Nunheim at his apartment by the Sixth Avenue elevated. Nunheim escapes out the window.
Mimi has Nick come over. He tells her Jorensen is a con-man named Keiterman.
Nick and Nora go to a party at the Edge's.
Dorothy, Nick and Nora go to Reuben's for coffee afterward then back to the Pigiron Club until 2:00 A.M.
At the Courtland Mimi shows Nick Wynant's watchchain that Julia had when Mimi found her dying.
Since I'm starting late I'l write the last two days of "The Thin Man" novel
December 30
Nick, Macauley and Guild meet at Mimi's apartment. She says Wynant gave her bonds and a check totaling ten-thousand dollars, fore-dated January 3, 1933.
In front of everyone, Nick says who-done-it and K.O.s the murderer.
December 31
Nearly 3:00 A.M., Nick lets himself into the apartment at the Normandie.
The morning papers tell about the murderer being arrested.
Nick tells Nora how and why the murder was commited.
So ends Hammett's last novel.
On another personal note, I hope all fellow Loungers have a great 2005. Let's party like it's 1939!
