Im about to buy an Enfeild that is suppose to be new. However, the last last 2 digits of the serial number on the key chain is 07. Just wondering if there is any correlation to the year that is was made?
"Vanson serial #s are consecutively assigned and have absolutely no reference to the year that the jacket was produced.
The seemingly bizarre nature of the serial numbers would have it seem that the serial #s are, in fact, random, but, again, they're consecutively assigned."
My jacket came straight out of factory, less than two months ago, and the s# ends with 06. See if the jacket has creased sleeves if you want to make sure it's new. Doesn't really matter when the jacket was made as the hide could've been just sitting there for years, sometimes decades.
