A future hat project, (as soon as I get caught up on other projects). A generous Lounger sent this one to me. It's a 6 7/8 Resistol Stagecoach in the 'Puma' color. I love working on Stagecoaches, or any other Byer/Rolnick Western for that matter. I already have a Western style in mind for this one when I get the time to work on it. It'll definitely be sized up and restyled, (maybe blocked up to a different size than I wear so I won't be tempted to keep it).

Early 80s Stetson Winner, in camel color. A little banged up in shipping, so all I've done so far is get things un-bent. I'm thinking maybe a little more downturn to the brim, but not certain yet. This little guy had an adventure getting to me. From a local P.O. in North Dakota, to Fargo. Then just "in transit" for 6 days, until it appeared in Portland. Say, wha'? Then disappeared again for 9 more days before arriving in Denver. Lingered there for two days, then "in transit" again. Finally landed on my doorstep 19 days after USPS took possession of it. o_O

It's been a long time but here are some photos to share.

My mother actually took the first one of me on the day my new hat from The Last Best West came. I am currently expecting a new one sometime in May (hopefully before my 33rd birthday)! And no, the rest is not in rhyme, that was by accident. The other two are from Christmas that year.

From last Summer's 2023 Blue Rodeo, I was made sheriff though the position was honorary. I joined up with the new generation of UK Westerners and hopefully JB would soon get back to me. As for the black hat, it was a Rodeo King black Reno hat with a concho hatband added on and it was stitched on using Grosgrain ribbon of the same colour.

Bell Crown hat made by Tim Bender of TP&H Trading Co. with a pencil roll and black bound edge, 2" sweat band, blue satin liner, plus a black leather hat band made by John Cody. Mid-1800's style if my memory serves me well.

Yeh, tons of threads already exist covering this. Reminded me of Joao from Portugal and his big brimmed beauties.
Thanks for letting me know; perhaps I should delete this thread and start something more specific to just hats from the Old West era?

Never the less, it's still a nice collection of Westerns you posted. If your thread does get moved to the 'Western Anyone' thread you'll actually have the benefit of greater visibility for that fine collection of yours. That thread gets a good deal of traffic by Loungers who also love the Westerns, including myself.
